Added 'Switch Desktop Environment' setting to System Settings (control-center) - file desktop/change-desktop-environment.desktop ; hooks/chroot removes more unneeded packages (like libqt4-sql-mysql and libutouch-geis1) with 'apt-get purge --auto-remove'
