From Jeff: When the HL7 channel is opened, the HLCSFAIL is set to true by default. It's only cleared when a message successfully comes through. That means that when the channel has been shut down and no messages have been processed the channel will go into an "Openfail" state. (Cache works the same way.) This has caused consternation at the customer site. The added line looks to see if the channel was put down into a shutdown state, and if so, closes the socket and puts the channel in a "Shutdown" state. If the channel is in a truly failed state, I don't know if this is the correct status. Overall, though, I would say that this is a good change.
