Create Background Slideshow, also referred to as CreBS, is a wallpaper slideshow
creator for the GNOME desktop. It allows you to choose images in a variety of
formats (JPEG, PNG, GIF, SVG), specifying their order, duration on-screen, and
the transition between each image and the following one.

Start by clicking the Add button (the one with a plus icon) and choosing images
with the file chooser window, or by simply dragging images from your file
browser onto the Create Background Slideshow window. You'll need at least two
images to make a slideshow, but, beyond that, you can add as many images as you
want, from whichever directories you want.

When you've finished selecting images, or perhaps even before, set the timings.
The Defaults section allows you to set the duration and transition time that
will automatically apply to all images. If you want to override those timings
for a particular image, select it in the image list, then untick "Use default"
and change the timings in the Selected Image section.

Once you're happy with the order and timings of your pictures, give the
slideshow a name and click the Apply button (it's the one on the bottom-right
with a tick icon). This will set your slideshow as the current wallpaper and
save it along with your other, static wallpapers, so you'll be able to find and
re-select it in future using the standard Appearance Preferences window.

Old slideshows can be re-opened (CreBS saves them to the .crebs folder in your
Home directory) so you can easily modify them or use them as templates for other
slideshows.

Create Background Slideshow can also be selected as an option for Nautilus's
right-click "Open with..." menu for all the acceptable image formats as well as
saved slideshow XML files. If installed, this association will be made
automatically.

A complete description of Create Background Slideshow can be found in the crebs
man page.
