Add a script to check that all supported build profiles build well.

Ideally, before pushing changes to mainline, everyone should run
either:
  
$ make check [JOBS=desired_level_of_parallelism]
  
or:
  
$ tools/check.sh [-j desired_level_of_parallelism]

to see if something broke.
