How do I translate a tour?

This developement version of Ubuntu Tour uses GNU's gettext system with Launchpad to provide translations.

If you are not a writer, or just want to translate a tour, you can skip to the next page.
Firstly, you need to set your tour up in a way which supports translated stings. This is done using by placing phrases in parenthesis link so. __\(This phrase will be translated.\). For example, here is the start of the wine tour:
<h1><div align="center">__\(How do I run my Windows programs in Ubuntu?\)</div></h1>

<p>__\(Ubuntu is based upon GNU/Linux.\) __\(This means, that, like with Mac, you need to run specially designed software.\) __\(Many programs, such as Firefox, are also available in Linux versions,\) __\(whilst many other peices of software have Linux compatible alternatives.\) __\(For example,\) __\(rather than Microsoft Office, you could use Libre Office.\)</p>

Once you have setup your tour to be translatable, you should run the create_pot.py file. This can be done just before you commit:
./create_pot.py
bzr commit -m "Modified tour xyz"
bzr push
