An example to, perhaps, shed some light on the issues brought up in

BUFR table management is presently outside the scope of the LibECBUFR API.
The decode_cmc_table.c example should illustrate why this would be the case,
at least for an organization like Environment Canada with a rich and,
perhaps, questionable experience using BUFR operationally.

In a nutshell, this example extracts (and perhaps improves upon) some
concepts used in the Met Manager application (in turn, derived from
practices in the old NCP software suite) to manage BUFR table versions
while handling all the intricacies of EC BUFR data.
