This test will check that LXAppearance can change the widget

<dl>

    <dt>Click on the Lubuntu symbol in the panel. Then go to "Preferences" and click on "Customize Look and Feel"</dt>

        <dd>A window opens, showing the tab "Widgets"</dd>

    <dt>Click on Widget "Clearlooks"</dt>

        <dd>The window appearance changes</dd>

    <dt>Click now on "lubuntu-default"</dt>

        <dd>The window appearance changes back</dd>

</dl>

 

This test will check that LXAppearance can change colors individually

<dl>

    <dt>Click on the tab "Color"</dt>

        <dd>The tab "Color" shows up</dd>

    <dt>Check "Use customized color scheme"</dt>

        <dd>The options in the tab unfade</dd>

    <dt>Click on the color of "Normal windows" and "Background"</dt>

        <dd> A window opens, showing a color selector</dd>

    <dt>For color name enter "#E39000". Click on "OK"</dt>

        <dd>The window closes. You see again the window of LXAppearance which now have a orange background color</dd>

    <dt>Click on the color of "Normal windows" and "Foreground"</dt>

        <dd> A window opens, showing a color selector</dd>

    <dt>For color name enter "#0000FF". Click on "OK"</dt>

        <dd>The window closes. You see again the window of LXAppearance which now have a blue text color</dd>

    <dt>Click on "Apply"</dt>

        <dd>Other opened windows appear in the same selected colors</dd>

    <dt>Uncheck "Use customized color scheme". Click on "Apply"</dt>

        <dd>The options in the tab fade</dd>

This test will check that LXAppearance can change the icon themes

<dl>

    <dt>Click on the tab "Icon Theme"</dt>

        <dd>The tab "Icon Theme" shows up</dd>

    <dt>Choose theme "GNOME". Click on "Apply"</dt>

        <dd>The theme is applied the your system. Check your panel to see different symbols as well</dd>

    <dt>Choose theme "Lubuntu". Click on "Apply"</dt>

        <dd>The icons change back to Lubuntu standard theme</dd>

</dl>

 

This test will check that you can change the appearance of the mouse cursor

<dl>

    <dt>Click on the tab "Mouse Cursor"</dt>

        <dd>The tab "Mouse Cursor" shows up</dd>

    <dt>Select "DMZ black" and click on "Apply"</dt>

        <dd>The color of the mouse cursor does NOT change. This requires a new login</dd>

    <dt>Log off and log in again</dt>

        <dd>The color of the mouse cursor has changed.</dd>

</dl>

 

This test will check that LXAppearance can change the window borders

<dl>

    <dt>Click on the Lubuntu symbol in the panel. Then go to "Preferences" and click on "Customize Look and Feel"</dt>

        <dd>A window opens, showing the tab "Widgets"</dd>

    <dt>Click on the tab "Window Border"</dt>

        <dd>The tab "Window Border" shows up</dd>

    <dt>Select theme "Clearlooks". Click on "Apply"</dt>

        <dd>The window appearance changes</dd>

    <dt>Select the theme "Lubuntu-default". Click on "Apply"</dt>

        <dd>The theme changes back</dd>

</dl>

 

This test will check that LXAppearance can change the font properties

<dl>

    <dt>Click on the tab "Font"</dt>

        <dd>The tab "Font" shows up</dd>

    <dt>Uncheck  "Enable antialiasing" and "Enable hinting". Click on "Apply"</dt>

        <dd>The font appearance deteriorates remarkably</dd>

    <dt>Check  "Enable antialiasing" and "Enable hinting". Click on "Apply"</dt>

        <dd>The font appearance changes back</dd>

</dl>

 

This test will check that LXAppearance can change additional properties

<dl>

    <dt>Click on the tab "Other"</dt>

        <dd>The tab "Other" shows up</dd>

    <dt>Uncheck "Show images on buttons" and "Show images in menus". Click on "Apply"</dt>

        <dd>The symbols in the buttons (e.g. "Apply" in the current window) have disappeared</dd>

    <dt>Click on the Lubuntu Icon in your panel</dt>

        <dd>The symbols have disappeared in the menu as well</dd>

</dl>
