LenMus Phonascus Basics

10

Phonascus, from latin 'the teacher of music', is a music education software that you can
11
use to practice your music reading skills, improve your ear training abilities, or just learn the
12
fundamental principles of music theory and language.

14

Modes of operation

16

LenMus Phonascus has two modes of operation:

18

As a reader of interactive music books (eBooks); and

19

As a tool to create and edit music scores and to play them back.
20
This second functionality (score editor / play back) is now under development and
21
is disabled in current version.

25

Reading eBooks: interactive books on music

27

Phonascus is designed as a fully interactive textbook. All exercises are fully
28
integrated into the text. Music scores are not just
29
images or pictures but fully interactive operational music scores that you can hear,
30
in whole or just the measures you select. This enables you
31
to put concepts into practice with immediate feeback and makes the subject matter both
32
more accessible and more rewarding to you, as you can hear, test and put in practise
33
inmediately any new concept introduced.
