Gort's MiniPiano offers 18 varied Piano voices in a ridiculously small size.
4
It's only 25 Kilobytes and contains 2 Acoustic Pianos and 16 Electric and Synth
5
Pianos. Part of the reason for doing this was to show how much can be done
6
with very small SoundFonts, and although it's a bit of fun, it's also presented
7
as a serious and useable SoundFont.
9
Most of the voices are entirely new, but just a few are duplicates of some
10
of the Piano sounds on the updated <<Gort's Synth>> Soundfont Collection,
11
(77 Kb with 185 instruments). If you want something a bit different,
12
there's also another tiny Soundfont called <<Gort's Extras>>, which is 58 Kb
13
with over 150 instruments, which like Gort's Synth has all sorts of varied voices
16
On my 5-octave keyboard all the voices seem to be OK and in tune, but beyond
17
that 5 octaves I've hardly checked. If this were a commercial venture I'd put
18
the time in to make sure, but as it's free you can sit there and blubber
19
if it isn't. I'm aware that you can't play an Everlasting Chord on the Acoustic
20
Pianos, but what do you want for 20k?
22
This soundfont may not be sold or included in any commercial transaction,
23
wholly or in part, or re-constructed in any way, but feel free to use the
24
sounds in any musical venture.
