Another plugin is PlainText. This is the same format used by Freedict plugin above. The difference is you can change the dictionary file (i.e. adding new entries) with PlainText while the KTranslator is running. With Freedict plugin you cannot, but the search with Freedict plugin is more faster (~1ms in my tests).

The last plugin is Dictd. This plugin reads dictionaries in DICT format. You can get one of these dictionaries in DICT website (http://www.dict.org) or FreeDict website (http://www.freedict.org). If you choose to use one of these dictionaries, select the .index file, put the other file (.dict or .dict.dz) in the same directory and chooses Dictd plugin.

KTranslator can use Sdictionary and StarDict dictionaries too. These dictionaries can be found in http://sdict.com/en/ and http://stardict.sourceforge.net. The former uses only on file, so select this file. The later uses three files. You should put all files in the same directory and select the .ifo file.

Now that you configure one dictionary, a icon in system tray will appear and you can translates some words. To translate a word, you can select the word while pressing <control>. Doing this, a popup window will appear with the translation.
