<p>If you are using a multi-user installation of the IDE, you can install a plugin globally

so that the plugin is available to all users. When you install or update a

plugin using the Plugins manager, the IDE places the plugin <tt>.jar</tt> file

and docs in your user directory. The IDE places <tt>.jar</tt> files
20
and docs for globally installed plugins in your installation directory instead
21
of an individual user directory.</p>

<p><b>To globally install a plugin:</b></p>

<li>Choose Tools > Plugins to open the Plugins manager.</li>

<li>Click the Settings tab and then select Force install into shared directories.</li>

<li>Click the Available Plugins tab, select the Install checkbox for the plugin and click Install.

<p>You can also install manually downloaded plugins in the Downloaded tab.</p></li>

<li>Follow the wizard instructions to complete the installation of the plugin.</li>

<li>Restart the IDE to activate the new plugin, if necessary.</li>
