Frequent problems when using MIDAS (the AGL graphics subsystem) and
3
creating Postscript files to do plots for scientific papers are:
5
- the standard AGL package defines the PostScript bounding box to be
8
- AGL clears the page before it plots
11
That means that, after creating the MIDAS postscript plot file, one has
12
to edit it i.e. adjusting the bounding box and removing the clear page.
13
This would be okay if it was only once, but often one changes a plot
14
slightly which then forces one to repeat the editing.
16
To avoid that repetitive work, Preben Grosbol from ESO wrote a perl script
17
'bbmod.pl' for modifying the bounding box in eps files.
19
This file 'bbmod.pl' is stored in the system procedure directory, i.e.
20
$MIDASHOME/$MIDVERS/prim/proc
21
and can be copied from there.
