<p>The <a href="../../api_c/db_stat.html">DB->stat</a> function is the standard interface for obtaining database

statistics. Generally, <a href="../../api_c/db_stat.html">DB->stat</a> returns a set of statistics

about the underlying database, for example, the number of key/data pairs

in the database, how the database was originally configured, and so
