<title>Open a file</title>

 

<p>

<app>Eiciel</app> can be used either in the <app>Nautilus</app> file explorer 

or standalone. Both scenarios only differ in the way the files are opened.

For the rest they are the same.

<title>Standalone application</title>

<p>

When you start <app>Eiciel</app> no file is opened. You can open a file pressing 

<gui>Open</gui>. A file selection dialog will appear

where you can choose a file or a directory.

<title>Nautilus</title>

<p>

In Nautilus right-click on the file or directory. Then press <gui>Properties</gui> and activate the <gui>Access Control List</gui> tab.

<title>Operation not supported</title>

<p>

The message <em>Operation not supported</em> means that

the filesystem where the file is located does not support ACL.

for further information about the ACL support needed in your system.
