==========================
7
Here is a short description of currently implemented features:
8
- different object types: polylines, freehand lines, circles,
9
ellipses, squares, rectangles, symmetric polygones,
10
bezier curves, multiline text, raster images
11
- tools for creating these objects
12
- tools for moving, scaling, rotating, shearing as well as
13
grouping, ungrouping, aligning, distributing and
16
- multi-window support with cut/copy/paste between the windows
17
- zooming and snapping to grid
18
- multi-level undo and redo
19
- (network-transparent) drop support with the KDE filemanager
20
- printing to PostScript (file or printer)
21
- Import of WMF-Cliparts (Thanks to Stefan Taferner)
22
- editing, inserting and deleting single points of polylines and curves
23
- different line styles and arrows
24
- export to raster image formats (JPEG, PNG, GIF, XPM)
25
- saving/restoring of default object properties
26
- export to Encapsulated PostScript
28
- transformation dialog
30
- fill styles: pattern and gradients
31
- Closed (and fillable) bezier curves
35
- XML-based file format
36
- Support for different measurement units: inches, millimeter, points
37
- Alignment of text to path. Supported pathes are polylines, bezier curves,
41
- Configuring of tools by double click.
42
- Inserting and deleting of points in polylines and curves.
43
- KDE session management
45
- Online documentation
46
- A rudimentary Xfig import filter:
47
* Support for 3.1 and 3.2 files
48
* Splines not implemented
50
The handling follows the Corel Draw(tm) user interface. That means:
51
- Holding down the control key during object creation
52
produces squares resp. circles instead of rectangles or
54
- Clicking in an existing text object enables the editing of the text.
55
- Lines are constructed with left click (this adds a new point) and
56
finished with right click.
57
- Bezier curves are constructed with 4 control
58
points. You have to left click 3 times before you can
59
finish the curve segment with the right mouse
60
button. But you can add more segments by left clicking
61
instead of the right button. Sound confusing ? Try it !
62
- In addition, there are some new keyboard shortcuts:
63
* In the canvas, selected objects can be moved by
64
pressing the cursor keys (big steps) or
65
SHIFT+cursor keys (smaller steps).
66
* There is a magnetic mode for appending
67
to polylines and bezier curves: Press SHIFT+Left
68
Button near the point of line to snap the new line
69
segment to this point.
70
* Polylines and bezier curves are closed by SHIFT+Right button.
71
* You can cancel selection or line adding with ESC.
