<h2>Managing Panels</h2><screenshot src="images/panel_right-click.png" style="float:right;" />Ubuntu allows you to modify your desktop panels, move them around, and add or delete them.

 

<b>Adding Panels</b>

You can easily add panels to your desktop. To do so, right click on any vacant space on a panel and choose the New Panel option. New panels do not contain any objects, however, you can customize the panel to suit your preferences.

 

<b>Deleting Panels</b>

To delete a panel, right click on that particular panel and choose the Delete This Panel option. Remember, you must have at least one panel on your desktop, so you cannot delete the panel if that particular panel is the only one available.

 

<b>Moving Panels</b>

You can move a panel to another side of the desktop. To do so, press and hold ALT and drag the panel to the new location. 

 

<b>Modifying Panel Properties</b>

<screenshot src="images/panel-properties.png" height="300" style="float:right;" />You can modify the properties of each panel. To do this, right click on a vacant space on the panel and select the Properties option.

 

This launches the Panel Properties dialog box; from there, you can make changes to your panel such as its position, visual appearance, and behavior.
