<h2>The Applications Menu</h2><screenshot src="images/panel_applications-menu_open.png" align="right" />Ubuntu categorizes installed applications under the Applications Menu. Each category contains a list of applications.

 

To launch an application:

<ol><li>Click on the Applications menu.</li><li>Move the mouse over the category you wish to see. A list will pop up at the side.</li><li>Staying on the same line, move the mouse over to the sub-list, then click on the application.</li></ol>

 

You can make shortcuts by right-clicking on an application and selecting <b>Add to Desktop</b> or <b>Add To Panel</b>. Clicking on a panel launcher or double-clicking on a desktop launcher will make that application launch.

 

Launchers in the Application menu will change accordingly if you install or remove applications.
