<h2>Links and Tabs</h2>

When browsing the web, you will be flipping between "web pages" - individual pages which make up a website. As there are many, many websites - each with many, many pages; it is neccessary for parts of one page to direct you to another.

Websites contain links to do this, usually (but not always) in the form of blue, underlined text, or text which is a distinct colour compared to the rest of the page. Firefox will change the mouse cursor to a hand when a link in underneath it. 

 

Clicking on a link will take you to another page - you can also right click on it and select "Open in new Window" or "Open in new Tab" if you wish to keep both the source and destination page open at once. When working with multiple tabs open, all are shown above the navigation bar. Simply click a different tab to switch to it, or click the "X" button on the tab itself to close it.

 

Links form the basis of web browsing, jumping from one to another to explore or "surf" the web.
