<h1>The Network Applet</h1>

The Network Applet in the top right corner will allow you to view and connect to existing networks. Wireless networks can be found here, and you can connect to new or hidden wireless networks through this applet menu as well. If you're trying to setup a VPN you can do so by using the Network Applet too.

 

If you need to define a connection you can do so by going to the System ▸ Preferences ▸ Network Connections menu in the top left. This will open a new Window with several choices to ease the creation and setup of your network connection.
