<h2>Network Connections: DSL</h2>

If you're not using DSL, or you do not have a PPPoE connection you can skip this. 

 

If you have a DSL or other broadband connection that uses PPPoE (Point-to-point over ethernet) for authentication (If you're unsure, contact your ISP). Usually if you need to enter your username and password to connect to the Internet this is a PPPoE connection. If you do not need to enter any login information, such as with a Cable Internet connection, you can likely skip any configuration as your connection will use DHCP and be automatically setup for you. 

 

To setup a DSL account choose the DSL tab in the Network Connection window and then Add a new connection. Here you can name your connection, which is handy on a laptop where you may move from one location to another. You should also enter your connection information into their respective fields. This information will be supplied to you by your ISP. If you do not want your connection to connect when you login, then make sure the "Connect Automatically" box is not checked. If you're unsure of your connection information, or the connection does not work you may need to contact your ISP.
