Ubuntu is er trots op dat het altijd haar best doet om software gemakkelijk up-to-date te houden.

Een toepassing genaamd Update Manager wordt gebruikt om updates te vinden en kan deze installeren voor alle software op de computer.

Je kunt de Update Manager handmatig starten, klik daarvoor naar het menu Systeem ▸ Beheer, klik op Update Manager. Normaal zal de Update Manager automatisch zichzelf openen.
